He was born Sept. 1, 1917, in Cloquet, to Arthur and Marie (LaRock) Bergeron.
Residing in Cloquet his entire life, Orville worked at Wood Conversion (formally Conwed) for 43 years. Before Conwed, Orville worked a short time as both a railroad tie replacer and logger, then commenced a career in the mill, as general worker, supervisor, and upon his retirement, holding the position Power Plant Superintendent. After attending electrician school in Chicago, World War II intervened and Orville spent his prime years between 1941-45 fighting for his country. After completing training in Oklahoma, Orville was shipped overseas and served for three years.
Orville’s passions were golf, dart ball, clock making, travelling, dancing and enjoying time with his family at his cabin on Big Lake. A foundation member of the Big Lake Golf Club, a member of the Couples Club and Northlakes Golf Association, Orv strived for that ‘under par round’. With a keen eye and steady hand, darts became Orv’s ‘winter’ sport, with an even mix of competition and social interaction with fellow dart enthusiasts.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 56 years Doris in 2002; son Bruce; three brothers, Jerome (2), Roland and Leonard, of Cloquet; sister Olive Bergeron of Cloquet and stepbrother Bernard (13).
Orville is survived by sons, Will (Abigail) of Tuscan, Brian (Sheri) of Hermantown; daughter Barbara of Australia; grandchildren, Craig, David, Matthew, Katherine, Benjamin and many nieces and nephews.
MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL: 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, in Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Cloquet, (a rosary will preceed the service at 10:30). Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Cloquet, Minn. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Cloquet VFW/American Legion Post.
Services entrusted to Cremation Society of Minnesota Duluth Chapel, 218-624-5200.

Our sympathies to you and your family, Brian. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this hard time. You do resemble your dad alot in looks and I am sure in alot of other ways. i am sure it is hard to lose him. My mom died two years ago and we still miss her.
