Norman E. Gustafson, 95, of Pengilly Minn. and long time pioneer resident of La Hacienda Estates in Alamo Texas, passed away peacefully on Nov. 27, 2012.
Norman E. Gustafson, 95, of Pengilly Minn., and long time pioneer resident of La Hacienda Estates in Alamo Texas, passed away peacefully on Nov. 27, 2012.
He was born in Mentor, Minn., the oldest of seven, to parents Gustav and Rena Gustafson on Dec. 15, 1916.
Graduated from Greenway High School and Itasca Junior College with honors. Norman served in the United States Navy during World War II. He retired from the M.A. Hanna Company after 25 dedicated years of employment as a Mining Engineer. He was an avid camper, golfer, bowler, dancer, hunter and fisherman. He was active in the communities he lived in.
Preceded in death by wife of 48 years, Anne; second wife of 12 years, Kathy; son, Charles; brothers, Clayton and Gordon; sisters, Bernice, Murial and Donna and many relatives and friends.
He enjoyed his family and is survived by daughter, Norma Anne McReynolds; brother, Virgil; Kristie; eight grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; extended family: Steven, Susan and family, Tommy, Ryan, nieces, nephews and cousins; friend, Ruth and many others.
PRIVATE INTERMENT: 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14, 2012 at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
