PRISCILLA JEAN BERGSTEDT

Priscilla Jean Bergstedt, 71, of Esko passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012 in her home with her loving family and friends by her side.

Priscilla Jean Bergstedt, 71, of Esko passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012 in her home with her loving family and friends by her side.

She was born March 30, 1941 in Britton, S.D., to Ludwig and Hilda (Salmivaara) Maunu.

Priscilla was raised and attended school in Frederick, S.D., graduating from Fredrick High School in 1959. In 1962 she graduated from the Lutheran Deaconess School of Nursing in Minneapolis as an RN. Priscilla married Loren Bergstedt on Dec. 12, 1970 in the Plymouth Apostolic Lutheran Church. Priscilla worked for Drs. Wall and Thorsen and the Lutheran Deaconess Hospital both in Minneapolis. She moved to Esko in 1978 and later worked for Carlton County Public Health for 15 years.

Priscilla was a member of the Apostolic Lutheran Churches in Plymouth and Esko. She enjoyed quilting for home, family, and the crisis nursery. She was an excellent cook, and loved to travel to friends and family (especially her grandchildren whom she adored). She lovingly cared for everyone around her.

Priscilla was preceded in death by her parents; parents-in-law, Edwin and Mamie Bergstedt; and sister-in-law, Karen Fitzgerald.

She is survived and will be sadly missed by her husband, Loren; son, Christopher of Maple Grove; daughter, Maria (Pieter) Spitael of New Brighton; brothers, Vernon (Lillian) Maunu of Plymouth, Robert (Patricia) Maunu of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Ralph Maunu of Deadwood, S.D.; sisters, Carol (John) Besonen of Tucson, Ariz., and Lila (Larry) Venjohn of St. Peter, Minn.; three grandchildren, Anna, Benjamin, and Kara Spitael all of New Brighton; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

VISITATION: 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, Nov. 30, 2012 in Apostolic Lutheran Church, 25 Church Road, Esko. Visitation will continue from 10 until the 11 a.m. funeral service, Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012 also in the church. Burial will be at Apostolic Lutheran Cemetery in Esko. A luncheon will follow in the fellowship hall of the church. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the Inter-Lutheran Theological Seminary, P.O.
