Berle K. Olson, 96, of Duluth died Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2012 at St. Luke's Hospice. Service 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012 in Bell Brothers Funeral Home, Duluth. Visitation two hours prior to the service in the chapel.

My good neighbor Berle will be missed. He was always my go-to-guy when I needed to barrow a pipewrench. Berle always had a friendly smile and wave for me. He actually enjoyed my garden beet greens and offered me interesting sidewalk conversation. We have lost so many of our elderly generation on this block since I moved here in 1988 and sadly they each take with them their special knowledge of our Norton Park neighborhood.
