Esther Evelyn Wick, 98, formerly of Leonard St and Viewcrest, died Sunday, Oct. 28, 2012 in Essentia Health St. Marys.

Esther Evelyn Wick, 98, formerly of Leonard St and Viewcrest, died Sunday, Oct. 28, 2012 in Essentia Health St. Marys.

Esther was born in Forbes, Minn., on June 3, 1914 to Charles and Anna Nelson.

Esther married Raymond “Ray” Wick on July 14, 1947 in Mason City, Iowa. She was a member of the Lutheran Church of The Holy Trinity and active in the XYZ Senior Citizens Club. Esther enjoyed playing golf at Pike Lake, bowling in various leagues and fishing at the cabin on Three Lakes. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ray; a son, Lee A.; two brothers and a sister.

She is survived by a daughter, Judith Duhaime of Grand Portage, Minn.; a son, Dale R. (Susan) of Duluth; five grandchildren, Leeann (Greg) Martin of Santa Anna, Calif., Kurtis Sanders of Simi Valley, Calif., Delayne Duhaime of Grand Portage, Kristin (Cubby) Madigan and Rachel (Kyle Curtis) Wick both of Duluth; five great-grandchildren; a nephew, Chris Nelson of New York City.

Remember what Esther always said, “God loves you, and so do I.” The family thanks Viewcrest Health Center and Essentia Health Hospice for their wonderful care.

VISITATION: 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. Memorial service Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012 in the Lutheran Church of The Holy Trinity, 2701 West 3rd St. Rev Gregory Daher officiating. Burial at Oneota Cemetery.
