Joan Arlene West, 76, died Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012 in Tyler, Texas.
She was born on Friday, Feb. 7, 1936 in Grand Rapids, Minn., to the late J. C. and Lila Boyhtari.
She was a retired from St. Luke's Hospital in Duluth, where she worked as a nurse. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Hawkins, Texas and was confirmed in the Finnish Lutheran Church. She was a Job's Daughter and a three time Worthy Matron with the Eastern Star, once in Hawkins and twice in the Arrowhead Chapter in Duluth. She was also a past Grand Officer of the Minesota Eastern Star. She is preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Russell Boyhtari.
She is survived by her husband Robert William West; two daughters, Linda Hakala of Cloquet, Minn., and Kathy Rovinsky and husband Tom of Hermantown, Minn.; sister-in- law, Rosalyn Boyhari; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
MEMORIAL SERVICE: 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012 in First United Methodist Church in Hawkins with Rev. David Hicks officiating.
