John R. Westin, 49, of Elizabeth Street, wonderful son, brother, uncle and friend, died after a short illness Friday, Oct. 26, 2012, in St. Luke’s.
John R. Westin, 49, of Elizabeth Street, wonderful son, brother, uncle and friend, died after a short illness Friday, Oct. 26, 2012, in St. Luke’s.
John was born Oct. 12, 1963, in Duluth, to Ellie and Chuck Westin.
He graduated from Duluth East and was a manager/supervisor at a number of Duluth’s parking lots. John enjoyed the outdoors. He loved to hunt, fish, golf and be with his dogs.
He was preceded in death by “Patches”.
John is survived by his parents, Ellie and Chuck; siblings Bill (Kristen) Westin and Vicki Jacques, both of Duluth, Bob Westin of Minneapolis and Sally Christensen of Williston, N.D.; nieces and nephews, John, Allison and Dan Jacques, and Bayley, Hannah, Mackenzie and Lexi Westin; grand-niece Jalisa Jacques; and special friends Mike Jacques and Bill Christensen.
VISITATION: 10 until the 11 a.m. Mass of Christian burial Tuesday in St. John’s Church with Fr. Richard Kunst officiating.
Memorials are preferred and may be directed to St. John’s School, 1 W. Chisholm St., Duluth, MN 55803.

Chuck, Ellie and family - I am so sorry to hear about your loss. Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with all of you during this difficult time.
