Carl A. Mostrom, 63, of Two Harbors, died Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012 at St. Luke’s Hospice.

Carl was born to Harold and Betty (Lehman) Mostrom on Aug. 2, 1949 in Cloquet, Minn.
Carl attended Meadowlands High School. He received his diploma from St. Luke’s Nursing School and went on to receive a Bachelor’s Degree from St. Scholastica. Carl was a Navy Lt. serving as a Nurse with a tour in Guam. He was a registered nurse and was most recently working for Regency Home Healthcare. He also worked for St. Luke’s, where he met his wife of 20 years, Kathryn (Ruona). Carl was employed at Miller Dwan and Viewcrest Nursing Home as well as other home healthcare facilities.
Carl was a lifelong Packers fan. He enjoyed many outdoor activities including boating, canoeing, and camping with his grandkids every summer. Carl’s family was very important to him. He was also an avid reader and loved traveling!
Carl is preceded in death by his parents.
Carl is survived by his wife, Kathryn; sons, Chad (Tessa) Mostrom and Kyle Mostrom; daughter, Sarah (Jack) Finstad; stepdaughter, Hannah Ruona; three brothers; one foster sister; and grandchildren, Brandon and Madison Bennett and River Mostrom. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
SERVICE: 4 p.m. Monday, Oct. 29, 2012 in United Baptist Christian Church, 830 E. 1st St. Visitation will be Sunday 5-7 p.m. in Bell Brothers Jarvi Dowd, 925 E. 4th St. and one hour prior to the service in the church on Monday.
The family requests that memorial gifts be designated to MN Adult & Teen Challenge of Duluth, 2 East 2nd St. or for cancer research at Mayo Clinic, online at www.mayoclinic.org/development or mailed to Department of Development, Mayo Clinic, 200 First St. SW, Rochester, MN 55905.
