DONALD DEAN ELMER

Donald Dean Elmer, 84, of Cloquet, Minn. passed away peacefully surrounded by his family, Oct 18, 2012 at Woodland Good Samaritan Elmwood House in Brainerd, Minn.

Donald Dean Elmer, 84, of Cloquet, Minn., passed away peacefully surrounded by his family, Oct 18, 2012 at Woodland Good Samaritan Elmwood House in Brainerd, Minn.

Donald was born and grew up in Cloquet, the son of Robert and Bertha (Rock) Elmer.

Donald served his country in the United States Army. Donald was an iron worker by trade and a member of the steel workers union. He was a member of Big Lake Gun Club, FOE Eagles Club and Cloquet Country Club. Donald enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, golfing and spending time outdoors.

Donald is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Delores (Liz) Westerham; and brother, Father Phillip Elmer.

Donald will be missed by his daughter Denise (Rick) Segler Brainerd, Minn.; granddaughters, Katie Petersen, Pequot Lakes, Minn., and Taylor Segler, Brainerd, Minn.; grandsons, Bret Petersen, San Francisco, Calif., and Evan Segler Brainerd, Minn.; sisters, Marge (David) Golen, Cloquet, Minn., and Betty (Robert) Hansen, St Louis Park, Minn.; brother, Jim Elmer, Cloquet, Minn.; many nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Doug Wilson.

CELEBRATION OF LIFE: 3-6 p.m. Thursday Oct. 25, 2012 Nelson Funeral Care 1004 Cloquet Avenue in Cloquet, Minn.
