Patsy Jean Barstad, 70, of Hermantown, passed away peacefully at her home, Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2012 with her loving husband by her side.
Patsy Jean Barstad, 70, of Hermantown, passed away peacefully at her home, Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2012 with her loving husband by her side.
She was born May 25, 1942 in Shooks, Minn., to Earl and Josephine Spears.
She married Vernon Barstad on July 8, 1961 in Littlefork, Minn. Together they raised two children. She loved spending time with her family and friends, camping and “snow birding to Arizona”.
She is preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Dixie Lea Spears and Virginia Goblirsch and a grandson Jeremy Byrnes.
She is survived by her husband, Vernon; a daughter, Dixie Lea (Tim) Byrnes of Hermantown; a son, Brian (Jennifer) Barstad of Libby, Mont.; a sister, Frances (David) Kerr of Pelican Rapids, Minn.; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was happy to be at home these last five weeks under the care of St. Luke’s Foundation Hospice with Vernon and her dog, Fergie as primary care givers.
VISITATION: 1 p.m. until the 2 p.m. funeral service Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012 in Grace Lutheran Church. 5454 Miller Trunk Hwy. Rev Phil Berge officiating.
