Anna Marie Locke, 85 of Cloquet, passed away Monday, Oct. 15, 2012 at the Community Memorial Hospital in Cloquet surrounded by her family.
Anna Marie Locke, 85 of Cloquet, passed away Monday, Oct. 15, 2012 at the Community Memorial Hospital in Cloquet surrounded by her family.
She was born Nov. 7, 1926 in Cloquet to Vincent and Anna (Dufault) Lemieux.
She was united in marriage to Frederick “Fred” L. Locke on Aug. 3, 1946 in Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cloquet. Anna worked in the State of Washington for the government during World War II; was the secretary for Sacred Heart Catholic Church and also an accountant for the Fond du Lac Reservation, and retired as director of food distribution for FDL.
She was a lifelong member of Queen of Peace Parish; the Daughters of Isabella, Catholic Foresters, the Hebert-Kennedy VFW Auxiliary, and was a volunteer for Inter-Faith Care Center in Carlton.
Anna Marie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Fred; sisters, Gertrude Bakke, Rosemary Blanchard and Lorraine Bassett; and an infant brother.
She is survived by two daughters, Deborah Locke of St. Paul and Denise Cassidy of Chaska; two sons, Kevin Locke of Sante Fe, N.M., and David Locke of Tucson, Ariz.; one sister, Joann Loisel of Pahrump, Nev.; seven grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
VISITATION: 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2012 in Nelson Funeral Care in Cloquet with a Rosary Service at 7 p.m. The visitation will resume on Thursday, Oct. 18, 2012 from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in Queen of Peace Catholic Church. Interment service will be at New Calvary Cemetery, followed with a luncheon. See the family online guest book at www.nelsonfuneralcare.net
