Elisabeth Munter Waselk, 88, of Chisholm formerly of Mahtowa went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Oct. 11, 2012.
Elisabeth was born on Sept. 5, 1924 to Josef and Elisabeth (Fieirsinger) Gratz in Schwoch, Austria.
She married Edwin Munter on Jan. 28, 1947 in Mahtowa. After his death in 1977, Elisabeth married Peter Waselk on Nov., 14, 1999 in Chisholm. Elisabeth was a homemaker and also worked at Stearns in Carlton from 1979 to 1987.
She was a member of Mahtowa Covenant Church and attended St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Chisholm. She enjoyed baking and watching wrestling, especially the WWF. Her favorite wrestler was Mysterio.
Elisabeth was preceded in death by her first husband, Edwin; a daughter, Ilse Vorderegger; sister, Kathi Brunner; and a grandson, Lance Harkins.
She is survived by her husband, Peter of Chisholm; children, Bruce (Janet) Munter of Cloquet, Lynda (Robert) Waletzko of Willow River, Bonnie (Dr. Lee) Nelson of Scandia, and Heidi (Brian) Sandberg of Lino Lakes; Peter’s children, Claudia (Rich) Mattson of Chisholm, Friederike (David) Engebretson, Peter (Carol) Waselk, and Andrew (Lori) Waselk all of Hibbing; 21 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and one great great granddaughter.
VISITATION: 10 until the 11 a.m. Memorial Service Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012 in Salem Lutheran Church in Mahtowa (due to renovations at Mahtowa Covenant Church). Burial will be at Mount Salem Cemetery in Mahtowa. A time of lunch and fellowship will follow in the church fellowship hall. Arrangements entrusted to Atkins-Northland Funeral Home, Cloquet.
