Jeanne D. Karish, 82, of Coleraine, Minn. transitioned Thursday, Oct. 4, at Kylar Glen “Shelter in the Woods” in Grand Rapids, Minn.
Jeanne D. Karish, 82, of Coleraine, Minn., transitioned Thursday, Oct. 4, at Kylar Glen “Shelter in the Woods” in Grand Rapids, Minn.
Jeanne was born to Berger and Augusta (Nordin) Taraldsen on Jan. 20, 1930 in Duluth.
She graduated from Denfeld High School and St. Lukes School of Nursing as a RN.
Jeanne married Louis J. Karish of Biwabik on July 7, 1956. They lived in Denver, Colo., before returning to settle in Coleraine in 1958.
Jeanne was a master quilter and honorary master gardener as was evident to anyone who had visited her magical lake house in Coleraine. She was an Auxiliary volunteer, Hospice volunteer and former girl scout leader. She was a patron of the Chamber Orchestra and loved nature and all animals.
Jeanne was preceded in death by her husband Lou Karish M.D.; parents; sisters Myrtle and Dorothy, and brother Stan.
Survived by three children, Scott (Marjorie) Karish of Littleton, Colo., Kim (Pete) DeCenzo of Grand Rapids, and Beth Karish of Boulder, Colo.; and two grandsons Jonathan (11) and Christopher (8), brother John (Louise) Taraldsen; sisters Ethyl (Bill) Wolff; and sister-cousin Caroline Mendesh.

More gratitute than we can express to Barb Arbor and the loving staff who treated her like the amazing woman she was and facilitated a serene and graceful transition.
PRIVATE FAMILY MEMORIAL: Sunday, followed by a gathering of family and friends to celebrate her life from 1 to 3 p.m. at Kylar-Glen.
