Kerry Turner "Tige" Thygeson, 58, passed away September 2, 2012 at Solvay Hospice House with his wife and family by his side.

Kerry Turner "Tige" Thygeson, 58, passed away September 2, 2012 at Solvay Hospice House with his wife and family by his side.

He was born on Nov. 20, 1953 in Duluth, to parents, Lloyd and Evelyn (Syverson) Thygeson.

Kerry graduated from Proctor High School in 1972. He worked as a Conductor on the DM&IR (CN) Railroad for 35 years. His Railroad career ended in 2007. Kerry was proud to be a UTU Local Chairman, helping many of his co-workers with work issues. He was also a member of the Proctor Moose Lodge 1302 and Sons of American Legion.

Kerry and his wife, Arlene, were blessed to find each other. They were united in marriage on Sept. 19, 2009. It was love at first sight. Kerry's quick wit, kindness, good looks and twinkle in his eye stole Arlene's heart.

Tige's one-liners and catchy sayings will live on through everyone who knew him. He will always be in our hearts.

Kerry was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Evelyn Thygeson and brother, Timothy.

Kerry is survived by the love of his life, his "Sweetie", Arlene; his daughters Keri (Dan) Dupay, Jodi (Dustin) Collelo; son Brad (Niki) Thygeson; step children Lisa Culver and Steve Okstad; brother Todd (Susan) Thygeson and their son Dustin Erichsen; Kerry's twin sister Carol (Ellsworth) Lind and their children Tammy, Eric (Monica) and Mark; Tim's children Dolly Thygeson and Josh Erickson; Kerry's grandchildren Austin Knute, Jayton Nelson, Avaya Dupay, Alizandra, Braylon, and Draya Collelo, Jasmin, Lily, Ella and Logan Thygeson, Nick Culver and Austin Okstad; and many loving relatives; special friends Roger Raymond, Jerry McGovern, Lorrie and Denny Wyrum.

Arlene would like to thank the family care givers who helped Kerry through his journey; Carol and Ells, Todd, Cyndee, Nita, Ardy and Carl, and Connie, Rog and Chrissy.

A special thank you to the staff of Solvay Hospice House, Dr. Troy Adolphson and Dr. Ketchum.
