Catherine Ann Wisniewski, 54, of Duluth died peacefully at home with her "two guys" by her side on Saturday, Aug. 18, 2012.
She was born April 10, 1958 to Earl and Ann Perry in Laramie, Wyo.
She moved to Albuquerque, N.M., then Denver, Colo., before settling in Duluth. Cathy attended Duluth Central High School, graduating in 1976. She went on to study fine art at UWS and UMD. Cathy loved to paint and make her own jewelry. She worked for many years at the Robin Hood Restaurant, where she met her husband Jim.
Her greatest achievement came on Sept. 3, 1985 when her son Bronson was born. Cathy poured her life into raising her son Bronson, and never let him forget how proud she was of the man he became.
Cathy worked in the hospitality industry for many years first at the Holiday Inn and then the Garden Café in St. Mary's Hospital. Her gift was getting other people to smile no matter how bad their day was.
She loved to dance, listening to music, southwestern art, playing the piano, spicy food, and laughing. She loved animals especially her dogs Jessy and later Patches, She would always refer to them as the four legged people.
One word to describe Cathy would be "strong". She fought every day to overcome her illness. Her never give up attitude will be missed but never forgotten.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister Jenny Perry; and father-in-law John Wisniewski.
Cathy is survived by her husband of 27 years Jim; son Bronson (Stephanie Peterson); sister Sue (Mike) Scanlon; stepfather Kim Rawlinson; stepsister Sharaine (Randall) Rawlinson-Roberts; step brother Scott (Lisa) Rawlinson; mother in-law Lorraine Wisniewski; sister-in-law Kim (Don) Muzzi; brother-in-law Jon (Shelly) Wisniewski; and many nieces and nephews.
Special thanks to all the wonderful doctors and nurses at Essentia Health and Oncology Department.
MEMORIAL SERVICE: 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 23, with a visitation at 9 a.m. in the Cremation Society of Minnesota, 4100 Grand Ave, 624-5200.
