Steve Hubert "Kork" Korkalo, 56, of Duluth, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2012 at Essentia St. Mary's Medical Center, Duluth surrounded by his loving family.
He was born Oct. 15, 1955 in Wadena, Minn., the son of Hubert H. and Lila (Karkela) Korkalo.
He was a Duluth resident all his life. He was a self-employed electrician and previously worked for Burlington Northern Railroad, Nylund Electric, and his fondest times were his days working at Arrow Chevrolet in the early 1970's.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Ronald and Delbert and ex-wife, Marilyn Ann Korkalo.
He loved life, spending time with his nine children and four grandchildren, and cars.
Steve is survived by his nine children, Heather (Andy) Copeland of Eveleth, Rex of Duluth, Abbey (Nick) Larson of Grand Rapids, Blake, Lacey, Malibu, Chevella, Augustanna, and Carson, all of Duluth; four grandchildren, Josh and Brooke Copeland, Mariyah Larson, and Dane Korkalo; sister, Alice Yakich, and brother, Jim (Nora) Korkalo.
VISITATION: 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 18, 2012 until the 11 a.m. funeral service in The Vineyard Church, 1533 West Arrowhead Road, Duluth. Burial at Park Hill Cemetery, Duluth. Arrangements by Dougherty Funeral Home (218) 727-3555.
