LEROY C. STARKEY

Leroy C. Starkey, 85, of Cloquet passed away on Saturday, Aug. 11, 2012 at Community Memorial Hospital in Cloquet.

Leroy was born Oct. 13, 1926 in St. James, Minn., to Clara and Clement Starkey.

Leroy enjoyed traveling, motorcycling, snowmobiling, camping, and playing games.

He was in the Navy during World War II.

Leroy hauled lumber on the North Shore, drove bus, worked for Northwest Paper and the Potlatch Corporation, retiring in 1988.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Lester.

Leroy is survived by his wife of almost 62 years Theresa; daughters Kathy (Tom) Demers and Sue (Mike) Mangan; sons Mark (Becky) and Larry; six grandchildren, four great grandchildren; sisters Elvira and Marcella; and brothers Jerry and Roger.

MEMORIAL SERVICE: 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 16, at with a visitation at 10 a.m. in the Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 102 4th St. Cloquet.
