Mildred Esther Bucholz, 87, of Duluth and Lakeland, Fla., died Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2012 in St. Luke's Hospital with her family by her side.
She was born on Feb. 27, 1925 in Minneapolis, to Michael and Bertha (Marklowitz) Ondov.
Following graduation from high school she continued her education and became a Registered Nurse.
Mildred married John Bucholz on Jan. 19, 1964, while John was on active duty serving at the U.S. Naval Air Station in Minneapolis.
Mildred was an RN working in several areas throughout her career, but her favorite area of work was in pediatrics.
Mildred was a member of Mt. Olive English Lutheran Church, a member of the choir; taught bible school for several years and was a member of the Ladies Fleet Reserve Association. Some of her hobbies included needle work and cooking for friends and family. She enjoyed taking bus tours with her husband to various destinations over the years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, John and sister, Leona Baluha.
Survivors include her spouse, John of Duluth and Lakeland, Fla.; her sons, Daniel (Kathy) MacNair of Lakeland, Fla., Donald MacNair of Grand Prairie, Texas; her grandchildren, Donald, Jr.; Jeremy, Justin (Brittany) MacNair; Tiffany (Justin) Duncan; Joanna (Jason) Heerema; three great grandchildren; sisters, Ruth Morrissey of Bloomington, Minn., Dorothy Nieting of Port Charlotte, Fla.; brothers, James of Lakeville, Minn., Raymond of Austin, Minn., Michael of Minneapolis, Daniel Ondov of Billings, Mont.
VISITATION: 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2012 in the Dougherty Funeral Home Chapel and will continue Wednesday Aug. 15, 2012 from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. Funeral Service in Mt. Olive English Lutheran Church, 2012 E. Superior St. Duluth. Interment will be at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.
