Anetta Jean Moen, 88, passed away on July 25, 2012 at the Boundary Waters Care Center in Ely.
Anetta Jean Moen, 88, passed away on July 25, 2012 at the Boundary Waters Care Center in Ely.
She was born at home in Herried, S.D. on April 11, 1924 to John and Eva (Wittmeier) Aldinger.
She attended school in Maple Leaf, S.D. and St. Paul. Her family moved to Ingram, Wis., where Anetta got her first job working for a farmer and his wife at age 15. On Sept. 3, 1942 she married Alfred Otto Moen. They raised five children together. On Oct. 18, 1992, Anetta was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses and has since been zealous in supporting the theocratic activities of her congregation.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband Alfred; brothers Albert and Clemens and a sister, Esther.
Survivors include her brothers Walter and Leon; children Dennis (lea) Moen, Vivian (Gary) Vorderbruggen, Carol (Allen) Weijo, Richard (Terry) Moen and Roger (Harriet) Moen; grandchildren Scotty, April, Jimmy, Tammy, Becky, Lisa, Troy, Ricky, Jessica and Rodney; great grandchildren Mariah, Justin, Krissa, Hadley, Jaden, Megan, Rose, Tanner, Brittany, Garrett, Joshua, Chelsea, Zyan, Zackari, James, Ruby, Emmett, Ramyja and Aniya as well as neices and nephews and grand neices and nephews.
MEMORIAL SERVICE: 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 25, 2012 in the Sunset Room at the Grand Ely Lodge. Keith Paetznick of the Ely Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses will officiate.
