Karen Price, 94, of Cloquet, died Monday, July 30, 2012 in Sunnyside Health Care Center, Cloquet.
She was born Jan. 1, 1918 in Brunflo, Sweden to Peter and Jenny Ohman. The family immigrated to the United States in 1927. Karen spent her childhood in Gheen and Winton, Minn.
During World War II, Karen worked at Diamond Caulk in Duluth producing tools for the war effort. She married Frank Price on Aug. 21, 1948.
Karen was a member of Queen of Peace Parish, TOPS, Cooties, Red Hats and the VFW Auxiliary No. 3979. She loved knitting, crocheting, and tatting and was also an avid swimmer.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Karen is survived by her son, James, of Minneapolis; sisters-in-law. Terry Kolodge of Dana Point, Calif., Bernice Price of Cloquet, and Margie Price of Battleground, Wash.; brother-in-law, Ed Zavislak of Berwyn, Ill., and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
VISITATION: 12 Noon until the 1 p.m. Memorial Service, Thursday, Aug. 2, 2012 in Atkins-Northland Funeral Home, 801 14th Street, Cloquet. Inurnment will be at New Calvary Cemetery, Cloquet.
