Timothy Samuel Jakubek, 62, of Duluth, passed away on Saturday, July 14, 2012 at his home.
Timothy was born April 6, 1950 in Duluth, the son of Samuel S. and Margaret (Curran) Jakubek.
He grew up in Duluth and graduated from Denfeld High School. He later moved to California where he was a fork lift operator for four years. He later returned to Duluth and worked at the Federal Building, Goodwill Industries, and on Ted Frankowiak's garbage truck for six years.
He was an avid biker, and enjoyed football, baseball, hiking, and spending time with his family, where he was known as an "excellent" son, brother, and uncle. He prided himself on staying independent.
Timothy was preceded in death by his father Samuel, and brother Edward.
He is survived by his mother, Margaret Jakubek of Duluth; siblings, Jeff (Deb) Jakubek of Belle Plaine, Minn., Tracey (Joseph) Kayoum of Northfield, Minn., and Kelly Jakubek of Duluth; and nieces, Tiffany Jakubek and Katie Kayoum.
VISITATION: 10 a.m. Thursday, July 19, 2012 until the 11 a.m. funeral service in Dougherty Funeral Home, 600 East Second Avenue, Duluth. Burial will be at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Gnesen Township. Arrangements by Dougherty Funeral Home (218) 727-3555.
