Cecile Marie Peyton, 100, of Gainesville, Georgia, formerly of Duluth, died Friday, July 6, 2012 in Gainesville, Georgia.
She was born in 1912 to Ellen and Wilbrod Carpentier in Montreal, Quebec, Canada where she grew up and graduated high school.
On July 14, 1938, Cecile married the love of her life, Newton H. Peyton. Her husband, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were her pride and joy in her long, bountiful life.
She was a parishioner and faithful supporter of St. James Catholic Church in West Duluth. In later years, she was a member of St. Raphael's Church at Pike Lake, Hermantown, Minn.
Cecile was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Newton who passed away on June 9, 2012. She was also preceded by grandsons Bobby Mosack, John Michael Peyton and Quinn Peyton as well as by 11 brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her daughters, Alice Stelling (Art Bergstrom) of St. Paul, Ann (Jim) Mosack of Duluth and formerly of Esko, Minn., Pat (Frank) Foley of Gainesville, Georgia, and Betty (Craig) Scherfenberg of Swan River, Minn.; sons, Doug (Lore) Peyton of Enterprise, Ala., Jerry (Elaine) Peyton of West Palm Beach, FLa., and John (Nancy) Peyton of Duluth; a sister, Marguerite Starich, of Plymouth, Minn.; 13 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
VISITATION: 10 a.m. Thursday, July 12 until the 11 a.m. Mass in St. Raphael's Church, 5779 Seville Rd., Duluth, MN 55811. After the mass, luncheon will be served in the social hall of the church. Following the luncheon, there will be a graveside service at Forest Hill Cemetery in Duluth.
