Gerald M. "Jerry" Anderson, 81, a lifelong resident of Hibbing, died Saturday, June 23, 2012, in the Heritage Manor Health Center in Chisholm.

Gerald M. "Jerry" Anderson, 81, a lifelong resident of Hibbing, died Saturday, June 23, 2012, in the Heritage Manor Health Center in Chisholm.

He was born March 13, 1931, in Hibbing, the son of Gust and Selma (Forsman) Anderson and was a 1950 graduate of Hibbing High School. Jerry married Elaine L. Arseth on Aug. 3, 1957, in Milaca, Minn. He was employed by KB Supply, Lakeshore, Inc., and was the founder and co-owner of SIM Supply, Inc., from 1974 until his retirement in 1994. Jerry was a very active member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Hibbing, the Sons of Norway Midnatsolen Lodge #058 in Hibbing, a 50-year member of Mesaba Lodge #255 AF&AM, the Scottish Rite Bodies, the Aad Temple Shrine, and the Range Shrine Club. He enjoyed the ROMEO breakfast club, deer hunting, and many other activities. Jerry was a man of quiet, strong faith whose family was his first love and priority.

Jerry is survived by his wife of almost 55 years, Elaine; son, Greg (Kris) Anderson of Hibbing; daughter, Jeannine (Bill) Bauman of Virginia; grandchildren, Joshua Anderson, Coreen Anderson, and Erika Bauman; sister, Ruby Lee of Vista, Calif.; brother, Leonard Anderson of Hibbing; sisters-in-law, Betty Peetz of Milaca and Carol Arseth of Sun City, Ariz.; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Aggie Jordan and her husband Merritt, Walt Anderson and his wife Ida, Bill Anderson and his wife Senia, Vern Anderson and his wife Dorothy "Shorty," and Raymond Anderson in infancy; brothers-in-law: Fred Peetz and Lawrence Arseth; and three infant grandchildren.

VISITATION: Wednesday, June 27, 2012, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the Anderson Daniels Funeral Home in Hibbing. Visitation will continue Thursday, June 28, from 11 a.m. until the 12 noon funeral service in Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Hibbing. Pastor Erik Holleque will officiate. Interment will follow in the Hibbing Park Maple Hill Cemetery.
