WILSON "CLAYTON" JOHNSON

Wilson "Clayton" Johnson, 68, of Hermantown, passed away on Sunday June 17, 2012 in Hermantown Valley Elder Care.

Wilson "Clayton" Johnson, 68, of Hermantown, passed away on Sunday June 17, 2012 in Hermantown Valley Elder Care.

Clayton was born in Duluth to Victor and Edith Johnson on July 16, 1943 and was a lifetime Hermantown resident.

Clay had attended Hermantown High School, and was a graduate of FI Salter Tech School specializing in Electronics and TV Repair. He worked at Duluth Avionics, and Superwood (Georgia Pacific) as a shipping Superintendent retiring after 33 years in 2003. Clay enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially time spent at "the shack", and working and collecting classic cars, specializing in detail work. The family wishes to give a special thanks to his caregivers Tim and Bobbie Jo.

Clay was preceded in death by his wife Carol Johnson, and his parents.

Clay is survived by a son Keith (Cheryl) Johnson; granddaughter Nicole Johnson; sister Mildred Warren; nephews Greg (Carolyn), Steve (Carol), and Gary Warren.

Visitation: 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 21, 2012 at Sunrise Funeral Home, and will continue on Friday from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. Funeral Service. Burial will be in Sunrise Memorial Park.

I am so sorry to hear about Clayton passing. I had the opportunity of working with him when he was with Superwood and then Georgia Pacific. I would like to give my condolences to his family. Clayton was a very nice person to talk to. He will be remembered by all who knew him. Donna Dodge
