Raymond Allen Kilpela 63, of Jacksonville Fla., went to meet Jesus June 2, 2012 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Allen was born March 21, 1949 in Duluth to Raymond W. and Angeline Kilpela. He was the eldest of their 14 children.
He is preceded in death by both his parents and sisters Laurie J. Collins and Nancy L. Kilpela.
He is survived by his sons, Sean A. Kilpela of Duluth and Justin K. Kilpela; granddaughters Justine and Genevieve of Cloquet Minn.; his brothers and sisters, Paul (Marcie) Kilpela, Minnesota, Richard (Ellen) Kilpela, Kentucky, Sharon (Rick) Ferguson, Alaska, Merriann Willi, Arizona, Priscilla (Bruce) Runyon, California, Robert Kilpela, California, Randy Kilpela, Nevada, Jessica Grundstrom, Arizona, Russell Kilpela, Wisconsin, Roger Kilpela, Minnesota, Roy Kilpela, Minnesota; so many nephews and nieces and great nephews and nieces it would take a full page spread, and his very good friend Vik Thoms who was with him to the end/beginning.
FUNERAL SERVICES: Allen will be brought home to rest on his families old homestead on Pioneer Lake. Allen's sons, family and friends will have an informal celebration of Allen's life Friday July 13, 2012 from dawn to dusk on Pioneer Lake in Cotton, Minnesota. All his friends are welcome.
