Eugene E Russell, Sr., 80, of Twig, passed away peacefully at home Monday, May 28, 2012.
He was born Aug. 19, 1931 in Duluth to Harvey H and Myrtle J. Russell, Sr.
Eugene was a 1949 graduate of Proctor High School. He was a member of the Minnesota Air National Guard serving active duty during the Korean Conflict. Eugene worked for DM&IR, International Harvester and Chief Motors. His favorite job was Campground Host at McCarthy Beach State Park. Eugene served as a Volunteer Fireman and Fire Chief in Grand Lake Township.
Eugene was preceded in death by his daugther, Nicki Larson; and his parents.
He is survived by his children, Vicki Russell, Duluth, Eugene E. (Dawn), Saginaw, Leslie (Chap) Korman, Esko, Kelly Russell, Duluth and Scott (Jean), Saginaw; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and one on the way; two brothers, Harvey (Harriet) Jr., Saginaw, Lee (Pat), Duluth; a sister, Jeanette (Harold) Lund, New Hope; his significant other, Janice Hofstrand, Duluth; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
VISITATION: 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. Memorial Service, Friday, June 1, in Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Twig, Minn.
