Betty J. Runquist, 87, of Duluth, died Tuesday May 22, 2012 at Keystone Bluffs.
Betty J. Runquist, 87, of Duluth, died Tuesday May 22, 2012 at Keystone Bluffs.
She was born in Duluth to Carl and Jenny Hanson on Sept. 25, 1924.
She was a member of the United Protestant Church in Morgan Park, Superior Elks Lodge No. 403, Richard I. Bong American Legion Post 435 Women's Auxiliary, and the Daughters of the Nile Lotus Temple No. 7. Betty enjoyed bowling, bingo, playing Phase 10, knitting, and spending time with her family.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; husband Robert; sisters Muriel Callahan, and Dorothy Hanson, and a granddaughter Maria Ann Runquist.
Betty is survived by her children David (Jean) Runquist of Duluth, Kay Severson of Duluth, and Jennine (Curt) Knuuttila of Superior; grandchildren Jamie, Don, Kara, David, Steven, and Elizabeth; a great-grandson Dayton, and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff of Nurses That Care Home Health Care and Keystone Bluff Assisted Living.
VISITATION: 11 a.m. Tuesday May 29, 2012 in Sunrise Funeral Home until the 1 p.m. Funeral Service. The Richard I. Bong American Legion Auxiliary will do a Service for the Deceased at Noon. Entombment will be in Sunrise Memorial Park.
