Robert John Demarais, 81, of Coleraine, passed away Friday, May 25, 2012, in his home.
Born June 1, 1930, in Coleraine, he was the son of Napoleon and Rebecca (Prenevost) Demarais. Bob served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. On Aug. 17, 1957, he married the love of his life, Patricia Friedman. He was employed by U.S. Steel for 34 years. After retirement, they enjoyed wintering in Mesa, Ariz.
Robert had many interests including fishing, hunting, golfing, pool, horseshoe, cards and loved spending time at the family cabin. He loved when family and friends came to visit!
He was a member of the Mary Immaculate Catholic Church of Coleraine, the Bovey Moose, and the Grand Rapids V.F.W.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Napoleon and Rebecca; brothers and sister, Virgil, Howard, Pauline, and twin brother, Richard.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Patricia; daughters Linda (Ron) Bellefy of Taconite and Shelley (Bryan) Zbacnik of Hibbing; son Kent (Hope) Demarais of Taconite; and six grandchildren, Tony, Tommy, Danny, Jennifer, Brooke, and Jackilyn.
The family would like to extend a "Thank You" to the staff of Northstar Hospice (Gus, Bobbie, and Sarah) and a special "Thank You" to Lori Demarais Fairchild for being our angel on earth.
VISITATION: 10 until the 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday, May 30, 2012, in the Mary Immaculate Catholic Church, Coleraine. Interment will be at the Lakeview Cemetery, Coleraine.
