Lila Doris "LilaBee" Beasley, our beloved mother, sister, grandmother, great-gramma, friend left this earth on May 21, 2012 to continue her life as an angel in Heaven.
She was born June 6, 1931 in Brookings, S.D., the sixth of seven children born to John and Maggie Lee.
On Aug. 26, 1950 she married John "Jack" Beasley of Taconite, Minn. They were the owners of the Taconite Store for many years. They raised a family of five children, as well as numerous foster children.
They also served as Luther League leaders at Bethel Lutheran Church in Bovey, Minn. When it came to helping others, Lila gave all and expected nothing in return. Her capacity for caring for others was boundless. She was the kindest, most loving, funniest person you could ever hope to meet and we were so lucky and blessed to have had her in our lives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Maggie Lee; husband John "Jack" Beasley; brothers Navace, Alois and Archie Lee; sisters Neva (Lyle) Grieme and Jane (Robert) Larson; sons Jeffrey Jay and George William Beasley; son-in-law Philip Peterangelo, as well as Evan Dunbar, her very special little angel.
She is survived by daughters Jane Beasley (Joseph Mastrull) and Sally Peterangelo; son John (Helen Bisbee) Beasley; sister Nancy (Russell) Nielsen; grandchildren Jennifer (Beasley) Dulong, Jake Beasley, Alison Peterangelo, Ashlee Peterangelo; great grandchildren Cameron, Megan and Lucas Dulong and Sunshine Peterangelo; foster children Kevin Schaff, Curt and Kenny Johnson as well as the Dunbar family of Louisville, KY and the Whaley family of Kinston, N.C., whom she considered extended family.
SERVICES: will not be held at Lila's request. Instead, the family would like you to take a moment and reflect on how Lila touched your life.

I'm surprised and so saddened Lila is gone. She was the single most amazing person I've ever met. I'm sure she must have had faults, but I'm not aware of them. The love and care she gave my Evan was better than you could expect from any parent or grandparent, and her reminders of him and the way he acted and phrased things has helped me remember him so much better than I could have on my own. Thanks for sharing her.Louisville, KY 05/25/2012 2:47 PM
