Marlene Marie Richey, "Waase oni quad equey" "Shining Cloud Woman", 72, of Duluth, formerly of White Earth, Minnesota, passed away on Saturday, May 19, 2012 at her home.

Marlene Marie Richey, "Waase oni quad equey" "Shining Cloud Woman", 72, of Duluth, formerly of White Earth, Minnesota, passed away on Saturday, May 19, 2012 at her home.

Marlene TeJohn was born Aug. 14, 1939 in White Earth, Minn., the daughter of Robert and Elsie Marie (Jones) TeJohn.

She grew up in White Earth and attended boarding school in Wahpeton, N.D. She later attended a school of cosmetology in Minneapolis. She married Richard Paul Richey on Dec. 27, 1957 in Red Lake, Minn. While in Minneapolis she was employed by Little Earth of United Tribes and the Indian Health Board.

Marlene enjoyed playing bingo and doing crossword puzzles. She loved spending time with her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Kathleen Richey; great-grandsons, Simon Pacheco and Teddy Benjamin; brothers, Lawrence, Richard, and Alfred and sister, Elizabeth.

Marlene is survived by her children, Micheala Richey, Linda (Dale) Richey, Richard (Cindy) Richey, and Robert Richey, all of Duluth; 13 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; brother, Robert TeJohn of White Earth; special sister cousin, Marge McCree of Cass Lake, Minn., and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

VISITATION: 4 to 7 pm, Tuesday, May 22, 2012 in Dougherty Funeral Home, 600 East Second Street, and 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 23, 2012 until the 1 p.m. Thursday, May 24, 2012 funeral service at Old Pine Point School near Ponsford, Minn. Burial at St. Theodore's Cemetery, rural Ponsford. Arrangements by Dougherty Funeral Home (218) 727-3555.
