Janis L. Messick, 64, a strong, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, of Maplewood, Minn., passed away peacefully April 19, 2012, surrounded by family.

Janis L. Messick, 64, a strong, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, of Maplewood, Minn., passed away peacefully April 19, 2012, surrounded by family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Maren Akervik; brothers Dale and Chuck Akervik; and many beloved pets.
Janis is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Jim; children Brian, Laura (Joe) Moreno and Kari (Jon) Nybakke; grandchildren Scott, Brandon, Victoria, Tyra, Hailey and J.J.; and her brother, Harold (Skip) Akervik.
VISITATION: 5-8 p.m. Monday, April 23, in Wulff Funeral Home, 1485 White Bear Ave., St. Paul, and 9:30 until the 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian burial Tuesday, April 24, in the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 1725 Kennard at Larpenteur in Maplewood. Interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred.
