Elma Irene DeLacey, 91, of Cloquet died on Monday, April 16, 2012 in the Solvay Hospice House in Duluth.
Elma was born to Carl and Aina (Jokimaki) Johnson on Jan. 21, 1921 in Automba Township. She was the first of nine children and was delivered at home by a midwife.
Elma was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Harold in 1996.
She is survived by her children, James (Sharon), David (Beverly), Roger, Janice (Daryl) Johnson, John (Kathy), and Kevin (Ruth); 27 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; siblings, Walter (Joyce) Johnson, Esther Wait, Paul Johnson, and Ray (Sharon) Johnson; and sister-in-law, Phyllis Johnson.
The family would like to express heartfelt gratitude to the staffs of Solvay Hospice House, Essentia Hospice & Pallative Care, and Senior Friends staff at Larson Commons.
VISITATION: 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service, Monday, April 23, 2012 in Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 12th Street and Doddridge Ave, Cloquet. A time of lunch and fellowship will follow in the church fellowship hall. Burial will be at Eagle Lake Cemetery, Cromwell.
