Anne M. Rones, 76, of Duluth, passed away on Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at her home, surrounded by her family.
Anne M. Rones, 76, of Duluth, passed away on Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at her home, surrounded by her family.
Anne Marie Flatley was born May 9, 1935 in Duluth, the daughter of Joseph and Mae (Cooke) Flatley.
She grew up in Duluth and attended school there. She married James Rones on Dec. 1, 1951 in Duluth. They made their home in San Diego from 1965 until returning to Duluth in 1990. She was a Food Service Supervisor at the Benedictine Health Center from 1990 until 2009.
She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, and the Lakewood Garden Club. She was an avid bowler and enjoyed gardening and knitting.
The family would like to thank Dr. Michael Mollen of Hermantown Clinic, Dr. Mihalilo Laliach, and the Essentia St. Mary's Hospice for their excellent care of Anne.
Anne was preceded in death by her parents; husband James in October 2003; and an infant daughter.
She is survived by her children, James (Nancy) Rones of Indianapolis, Ind., Cynthia (John) Castro of Iron River, Wis., Patricia (Greg) Wilton of Ukraine, Thomas (Julie) Rones of Murrieta, Calif., Linda (Bill Sinnett) Bergmann of Fresno, Calif., and Scott Rones of Duluth; 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; siblings, Laurence Flatley, Hugh (Marilyn) Flatley, Peggy Pelto, and Nancy Gerard, all of Duluth, and Keryl (Jim) Adams of Essexville, Mich.
VISITATION: 10 a.m. Saturday, March 31, 2012 until the 11 a.m. funeral service in Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 4831 Grand Avenue, Duluth. Interment at Sunrise Memorial Park, Hermantown. Memorials preferred. Arrangements by Dougherty Funeral Home (218) 727-3555.
