Allan Winters, 82, Duluth, passed away peacefully on, March 22, 2012, in Duluth.
Born in Marquette, Mich., Al was the son of the late Neil and Beatrice Winters.
Al met his wife Pat in Corpus Christie, Texas in the early 1950's, and they were married in January of 1953. Al and Pat celebrated 59 years of marriage earlier this year.
Al was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy, where he served 20 years, retiring in 1968. He was a Korean and Vietnam war veteran and served several deployments to Vietnam. After moving back to Duluth in 1968, he went into the insurance business with Mutual of Omaha, and retired in the 1990's from the insurance business. However, he truly loved carpentry and built several homes in Duluth. He also was a proud member of the Duluth Gospel Tabernacle, where he served in many leadership roles over the years.
He was predeceased in death by his parents; brother Mack Winters; sisters, Sadie Carlson and Phoebe Anderson.
He was loved greatly and will be profoundly missed by his wife Pat Winters, Duluth; daughter, Becky (Howard) Hamman, Duluth; sons, Brad (Sue) Winters, Coon Rapids, Minn.; and Allan Winters Jr., Duluth. grandchildren Crystal, Amber, Jade, Luke, Sarah, Mary, Farrah and Felicia and six great grandchildren; sisters, Jean Janofski, and Addie (Ray) Hansen.
Pallbearers: Luke Hamman, Tim Sanders, Dave Schmitz, Jose Paniaqua, Casey Underdahl, Nick O'Connell
Honorary: Bob Ross, Fred Flokstra, Vern Funk, Jerry Petit
VISITATION: 10 a.m. Monday, March 26, with the service commencing at 11 a.m. in the Duluth Gospel Tabernacle Sanctuary, 1515 W Superior St., Duluth. Pastor Rolf Fure officiating.
