Lorraine Anna Girard, 91 of Cloquet died Saturday, March 10, 2012 in Sunnyside Health Care Center in Cloquet.

Lorraine Anna Girard, 91 of Cloquet died Saturday, March 10, 2012 in Sunnyside Health Care Center in Cloquet.

Lorraine was born on April 26, 1920 in Cloquet. She married James Oliver Girard on August 31, 1946. Lorraine worked at Diamond Match for several years.

Lorraine was a homemaker. She and Jim enjoyed camping and fishing at Leech Lake with special friends Eva and Ed Nelson for many years.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband, James; her parents; and her "Special Sister", Eva Nelson.

She is survived by her sister-in-law, Dorothy Girard of Henderson, N.C.; nieces, Diane Girard of Henderson, N.C., and Susan Chase of San Jose, Calif.; godsons, Curtis (Kathy) Nelson and family, and Barry (Rhonda Erickson) Nelson and family.

The family would like to thank the staff at Sunnyside Health Care Center, 2nd floor, for the wonderful care they gave Lorraine for the past 10 years.

PRIVATE FAMILY MEMORIAL SERVICE: will be held. Lorraine will be laid to rest with her beloved husband, James at Maple Grove Cemetery in Cloquet. Lorraine you are missed by all at SSHC, you were the sweetest lady. I always enjoyed telling you about the Grandkids and showing you pictures of them....RIP
