Cathryn G. Vukson, 88, of Eveleth died Monday, Feb.
Cathryn G. Vukson, 88, of Eveleth died Monday, Feb. 27, 2012 at the Virginia Regional Medical Center.
She was born on Sept. 10, 1923 to Oscar and Anna (Anderson) Nordberg in Eveleth.
Cathryn was united in marriage to George Vukson on Oct. 3, 1945 in Duluth. She worked as a nurse's aid at the former Eveleth Arrowhead Nursing Home. Cathryn attended the Emmanuel Baptist Church. She was an avid sewer and reader and loved the outdoors and gardening.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and sisters, Ruth and Gene.
She is survived by her son, Douglas (Libby) Vukson of Hermantown, Minn.; daughters, Roberta (Jim) Skinner of Virginia, Minn., and Barbara (Carl) Halverson of Apple Valley, Minn.; grandchildren James Skinner, Daniel (Tami) Skinner, Michael (Jaime) Skinner, Pamela (Joe) Casey, Karin (Steve) Patronas, Bethany (Matt) Kostolnik , Tami Hansen, Christy (Mike) Oja, Jody (Jason) Gusso; great grandchildren, Ben, Max, Henry, Abi, Joe, Ryan, Kyle, Kara, Jocelyn, Ellie, Ava, Mia, Ivy, Fiona, Greta, Will, Joe and Emma; sister-in-law, Donna Vukson and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
SERVICE: 11 a.m., Friday, March 2, 2012 in the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Midway. Rev. John Cowan will officiate. Visitation will be Thursday, March 1, 2012 from 6-8 p.m. in Cron-Sheehy Funeral Home Chapel in Eveleth and will continue one hour before the service in the church on Friday.
