Elaine Mary Johnson of Duluth died Feb. 14, 2012 surrounded by her loving and devoted family.

Elaine Mary Johnson of Duluth died Feb. 14, 2012 surrounded by her loving and devoted family.

Elaine was born on Feb. 23, 1942 in Duluth to Clifford and Agnes (Wiski) Olson.

She graduated from Denfeld High School and received her LPN certification through the vocational school in Duluth. The majority of her nursing career was spent at Park Point Manor.

She married Leslie A. Johnson on Sept. 1, 1962 in Duluth. Elaine was a very active member of Christ Lutheran Church since its beginnings in 1951, participating in the Mary Circle, Quilting Group, and Library committee. She could frequently be found serving coffee during fellowship times.

Her life was dedicated to loving her God and her family. She especially enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family on cruises and at the cabin.

She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.

She is survived by her husband and daughters Kathlene (Jerry) Aho of Hermantown, Cynthia (Kerry) Anderson of Duluth, Pamela (Andrew) Virkus of Duluth, and Christine (Michael) Stumpf of Superior; brother Larry (Linda) Olson of Faribault; sisters Nancy (Philip) Reynolds of Pine River and Arlene (Steve) Smith of Duluth; aunts Joyce Olafson of Duluth and Ruth Schlichting of Lino Lakes, and seven grandchildren (the joy of her life).

VISITATION: 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, 2012 until the 11 a.m. service in Christ Lutheran Church, 2415 Ensign Street, Rev Michael Main officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Christ Lutheran Church Library fund would be appreciated.

Cindy and family, so sorry to see your mom passed. She was a great lady and a great mentor. I was fortunate to work with her for many years. She was a great nurse. God bless you all.
