Edward Bernard Young, 69, of Wawina died Wednesday, Feb.

Edward Bernard Young, 69, of Wawina died Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2012 at his home in Wawina surrounded by family.

Edward was born Aug. 16, 1942 in Grand Rapids, Minn., to Harold and Dorothy Young. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in Vietman. Ed married Diane Guentzel in 1967.

Ed retired as owner of Ed's Tire Hauling in 1995.

He enjoyed hunting, gardening, playing horse shoes, and spending time with his family, especially his new grandson.

Ed was preceded in death by his wife Diane, and parents Harold and Dorothy.

He is survived by his children Shane of Minneapolis, Wade (Diane) of Wawina, Heath (Kendra) of Wawina; grandson Otto of Wawina; siblings Dode of Ewen, Mich., Betty (Bill) of Cohasset, Bernie of Brainerd, Sonny (Connie) of Klamath Falls, Ore., Carol of Grand Rapids, and Barb of Wrenshall, and many nephews, nieces, and deer friends.

Ed's family would like to thank the friends and family who helped over the last few months.

MEMORIAL SERVICE: 2 p.m. Saturday, February 18, 2012 in the Wawina Town Hall & Community Center with lunch to follow.
