Lloyd R. Frey, 93, of Duluth, died unexpectedly Dec.

Lloyd R. Frey, 93, of Duluth, died unexpectedly Dec. 7, 2011, in his home.

He was born in Duluth March 10, 1918, to Andrew and Vendela Frey. He was a graduate of Denfeld High School.

Lloyd was an Army Veteran of World War II, serving with A Co., 40th Combat Engineers in the European, African and Middle Eastern Theaters of Operation. He worked at General Mills for 38 years, retiring in 1978 as superintendent/general manager.

He was a member of the All-American Club, West Duluth American Legion and Trinity Masonic Lodge.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wives, Shirley J. and Mary Alyce.

Lloyd is survived by his sons Douglas P., and his former wife, Camilla "Millie" and Dale A. (Norine); stepsons Michael J. (Cindy) Singpiel and Kevin T. Singpiel; grandchildren Andrew, Lindsey, Ryan, Ashley, Brayden, Daniel, Megan and Joey; great-grandson Nathan; and nieces Donna (Ray) Olson, Betty (Dennis) Jence, Linda (Glenn) Paulick, and Roni (Mike) Town.

VISITATION: 11 a.m. until the 12 noon service Monday, Dec. 12, in Williams-Lobermeier Funeral Home. Burial at Park Hill Cemetery.

Memorials to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, in care of the family, are preferred. Military Honors accorded by the Combined Duluth Honor Guard.
