Larry Eugene Linnell, 80, of Duluth, died peacefully Nov. 10, 2011, in the Benedictine Health Center surrounded by his family.
He was born in Lake City, Iowa, Sept. 9, 1931, to Chester and Viola Linnell. Larry was a graduate of Denfeld High School. He married Betty Ann Vondane in Duluth Oct. 17, 1953.
Larry had retired from the DTA, working for l8 years as a bus driver and 18 years as a bus mechanic. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War.
Larry was a life member of V.F.W. Post 137 and had also served as a member of its Honor Guard.
He enjoyed woodworking, playing guitar and singing around the bonfire. His children and grandchildren were his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Larry is survived by his wife, Betty; daughters Susan (Mike) Johnson, and Sandra (Duane) Caywood; son Steven; sister Doris; brother Keith (Judi); grandchildren Heather (Chad), Damon (Natalie), Rustin, Breanna, Kendra, Chase, Holden and Gaven; and great-grandchildren Tacy, Hana and Gunnar.
VISITATION: 9:30 until the 10:30 a.m. memorial service Monday, Nov. 14, in Holy Family Catholic Church. Inurnment at Polish Catholic Cemetery. Military Honors accorded by the Combined Duluth Honor Guard.
Memorials may be given to the Duluth Honor Guard. Arrangements by Williams-Lobermeier Funeral Home.
