GORDON J. SHANNON

Gordon J. Shannon, 58, a lifelong resident of Duluth, passed away Sunday, Sept. 11, 2011, in Essentia Health St. Mary's Medical Center with family and friends by his side.

Gordy was born in Duluth May 11, 1953, to Hugh and Trudy (Reimer) Shannon. He was confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in 1967. He attended East High School and graduated in 1971.

Gordy worked for Yellow Cab for many years and previously for Stride Bus. He loved the outdoors, fishing, camping, and playing poker with his good friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother; nephew Luke Shannon; and sister-in-law Sherry Shannon.

Gordy is survived by his father, Hugh (Jan) of Duluth; brother Tony Shannon of Duluth; sister Tricia Shannon of Andover, Minn.; and partner Clare Shenett; and her two daughters, Jennifer and Jessica and their families.
