Christine Lee Baumgart, 30, of Duluth, died July 22, 2010, at home after a lifelong battle with cerebral palsy. Services were held July 26 at the Cremation Society of Minnesota.

Jerome “Jerry” C. Buran, 69, of Duluth, died July 21, 2010. Services were held July 26 at the Salvation Army.
Lance Leonard Lind, 68
Lance Leonard Lind, 68, of South Range, died July 25, 2010, surrounded by family. Services were held July 31 at Hope Lutheran Church in Oulu, Wis.
Gerald Raymond Markey, 78
Gerald Raymond Markey, 78, was born Sept. 1, 1931, in Detroit. Gerald died July 16, 2010, in Duluth. A private family service is planned.
Karen Prahl McDonald, 82
Karen Prahl McDonald, 82, died Dec. 10, 2009, in Brooklyn Park and was laid to rest at Park Hill Cemetery in Duluth July 19. Karen was the letter writer in the book her niece wrote, “Dear Auntie, Why Me?”

F. Lorraine Mullauer, of Duluth, died July 23, 2010, at Benedictine Health Center. Services were held July 29 at BHC. Donations may be sent to Lighthouse for the Blind in her memory.
Margaret ‘Ches’ E. Phelps, 103
Margaret “Ches” E. Phelps, 103, of Duluth, died July 16, 2010, at Benedictine Health Center. Services were held July 24 at Bethany Lutheran Church with burial at Bethany Cemetery.
Gordon A. Ritz
Gordon A. Ritz, a member of the Fond du Lac Reservation, died July 26, 2010, at St. Luke’s Hospital. Private graveside services will be held at Calvary Cemetery with military honors. Arrangements are being handled by the Cremation Society of Minnesota, 624-5200.
Dale J. Strand, 77
Dale J. Strand, 77, of Duluth, died July 27, 2010. A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 1, at Williams-Lobermeier Funeral Home. Visitation continues on Monday from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service at Zion Lutheran Church, 2431 W. Third St. Burial will follow at Oneota Cemetery.
