Gloria Bartell, 71

Duluth native Gloria Bartell, 71, died Nov. 12, 2009, after a three-and-a-half-year battle with cancer. Funeral services were Monday at Peace United Church of Christ with burial at Sunrise Memorial Park in Hermantown. Memorials can be sent to “Kids in Nebagamon” c/o Kurt Bartell, 2616 E. Isabella V. Greene

Isabella Vitalina Greene was stillborn Nov. 11, 2009. Services were Saturday, Nov. 12, at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church with interment in Forest Hill Cemetery.

Charles E. Hyde, 80

Duluth native Charles E. Hyde, 80, died Nov. 17, 2009, at St. Luke’s Hospital. Services were held Friday at Dougherty Funeral Home. Interment at Sunrise Memorial Park.

Gladys A. Johnson, 93

Gladys A. Johnson, 93, of Duluth, died Nov. 17, 2009, at St. Eligius Health Center. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 23, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Proctor. Burial in Sunrise Cemetery. Call 624-1059.

Robert Johnson, 56

Duluth native and East High School alumnus Robert Johnson, 56, died Nov. 16, 2009, at his residence. Services were held Thursday at the Cremation Society of Minnesota Chapel.

David John Kovach, 76

Duluth native David John Kovach, 76, died recently at the Golden Living Center in Walker, Minn. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, at the Cremation Society of Minnesota, 4100 Grand Ave.

Anna Maki, 99

Anna Maki, 99, of Duluth, died Nov. 19, 2009. No services will be held; memorials may be sent to Animal Allies.

Robert John ‘Bob’ Thoresen, 66

Robert John “Bob” Thoresen, 66, of Duluth, died Nov. 11, 2009, at Chris Jensen Health Center. Services were held Monday at Zion Lutheran Church. Inurnment at Park Hill Cemetery.

Otha Charles ‘Chuck’ Tidwell, 61

Otha Charles “Chuck” Tidwell, 61, of Duluth, died Nov. 14, 2009, at his home from heart complication. Services were held Tuesday at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church.

Matthew James Walczynski, 32

Matthew James Walczynski, 32, of Duluth, died Nov. 16, 2009, at St. Mary’s Medical Center. Services were held Friday at Holy Family Catholic Church. Inurnment at Oneota Cemetery.

Steven James Wark, 58

Steven James Wark, 58, of Duluth, died Monday, Nov. 16, 2009, at Solvay Hospice House. Services begin at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, at Twin Ports Baptist Church, 208 52nd Ave. E. in Superior. Interment in Forest Hill Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to Twin Ports Baptist Church.
