Dianne L. Messina, 70, of Duluth, died Friday, Dec. 26, 2008 at st. Luke's Hospital surrounded by her loving family after a brief battle with cancer.
She was born on Nov. 23, 1938 in Duluth to Stanley and Helen (Galteau) Roginski.
She was a 1956 graduate of St. Jean the Baptiste High School and married Dominic "Dobby" Messina on May 18, 1957. She was a homemaker and pull-tab operator at Country Lanes. Dianne loved to winter in Arizona; she enjoyed crossword puzzles, her bear collection, reading, bingo, keno, and playing poker machines in Laughlin, Nev. Her greatest joy was being with her family and grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Shirley Riner and Adele Lomanto.
She is survived by her husband, Dominic "Dobby" of Duluth; children, Toni Hamski (Tom Kasell) of Duluth, Michael (Mary) of Maple Lake, Mark (Holly) of Minneapolis; eight grandchildren, Brian and Steven Hamski, Michael, Anthony, Dominic, Joshua, Derek, and Stephanie Messina; sister, Joyce (Herman) "Bud" Boman of Duluth; also several nieces and nephews.
VISITATION: 5 to 8 p.m. Monday with Funeral Services 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 30 in First Memorial Funeral Chapel, Duluth with Reverend Michael F. Messina, Jr. officiating.
