The steamer

Hans Casperson hooks up a hose to a water supply at a customer’s home to fill his steamer (foreground) with water. The steamer uses a variety of fuels like oil and kerosene to heat the water to a high-temperature steam. That’s pumped through another hose and into a wand that Casperson uses to spray down the ice dams. (Bob King / rking@duluthnews.com)
