Ice dam


An ice dam forms on the roof of a Duluth home. Ice dams form when heat in the roof melts snow, which trickles down to the edge of the roof and refreezes. Additional snow melt remains trapped on the roof, and often seeps into the attic. (News Tribune file photo)
