This is a photo of my late husband, Robert Ness, taken in 1943, less than one year after he entered the Army Air Corps. He served from October 1943 until 1945, in England and France. He was a noncommissioned officer in the Supreme Headquarters Allied Expeditionary Force under Gen. Dwight Eisenhower. He was honorably discharged in July 1945.
