Sgt. 1st Class Bradley L. Madison was born in 1961 and joined the army in October 1979. His active duties included Operation Urgent Fury (Grenada invasion) where he was a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne out of Fort Bragg, N.C.; and Operation Desert Storm in Iraq where he served as a Staff Sgt. in the 82nd Airborne 3rd Brigade in charge of all forward support transportation supply lines. His stateside duty stations included Fort Bragg, N.C., and Fort Lewis, Wash., and his overseas duty stations were in Germany and Korea.
Madison received the following awards: Meritorious Service Medal, five Army Commendation Medals, three Army Achievement Medals, National Defense Service Medal, plus many others. He took first place in Super Soldier Competition at Fort Lewis (a highly competitive mental and physical endurance competition).
Madison retired in March 2004. He attributes his success to family — being the youngest of 10 children and to having strong faith in God and strong loyalty toward country. This soldier is loved and admired by his nine siblings, his three children, his stepfather and his partner, Beth.
