Chris Duke, owner of Great Oak Farm near Mason, explained specifics on the operation of his family's sustainable farm to Northland College freshmen and transfer students taking part in the "Northland Connect" outdoor orientation trip. Great Oak is a founding member of Pasture Perfect Poultry, raising about 700 egg-laying chickens and several hundred meat birds without pesticides, hormones or antibiotics.
