Protor Area Historical Society

Jack Peterson, Duane Benoit, Ina-Marie Silverness and Marge Peterson hold a professionally produced photo of the Yellowstone Mallet, one the world’s largest steam locomotives which were used for moving iron ore. This Yellowstone Mallet is one of only three still in existence, and is now displayed on Highway 2 in Proctor. The photo is a fundraiser for the Proctor Area Historical Society. For more information on the photo, contact Jim Schwarbauer at 218-624-0187 or jschwarzbauer@msn.com. Photo by Naomi Yaeger/ nyaeger@duluthbudgeteer.com
